We are looking for volunteers for various positions for the upcoming school year. Without volunteers, the PTA would not be able to continue our mission of providing support and events for our school community. Please consider taking on a more active role this year.
If the roles listed below are not for you, please continue to check back for more opportunities for the year ahead.
Ice Cream Social and Community Resource Fair Chair
The PTA is in search of a volunteer to organize our annual Ice Cream Social and Community Resource Fair. The PTA typically holds this event in early September, and it serves as an opportunity for students and their families to gather, meet up with new friends, and enjoy a cold treat. The event also includes representatives from clubs and organizations in the area. Please contact KP/KG VP of Events Amy Johnson if you’re interested in helping out with this event!
The PTA always needs volunteers, so much so that we are looking for a volunteer to organize them! This position would involve creating and posting sign ups, as well as student volunteers from Lake Braddock Secondary School. Must have a comfort level with posting on PTA social media and responding to inquiries. Please contact PTA president, Emily St. Onge, if interested.
The Communications Chair will be in charge of printing flyers, running the PTA Twitter feed (@KPKGPTA) and creating a monthly coming events post on Facebook and Twitter.
- Printing flyers requires the person to be able to travel to Kings Glen during school hours to make copies and then delivering to both schools. This is an opportunity for a parent with free time during the day to help out the PTA. This is also great way to become more familiar with your child’s school and the lovely ladies that work in the offices. The time commitment varies throughout the year.
- The Twitter feed is used to post about upcoming events and reminders to our community. We also retweet great news about our schools and some upcoming events that will be of interest to our schools’ community. This role can be done at home and time commitment is minimal.
- New for 2021-2022, we will be posting a monthly summary of coming events on our social media pages. We are looking for someone who can create the graphic each month and post on Facebook and Twitter.
If you would prefer to do only part or all of this job, please contact PTA president, Emily St. Onge, if interested.
The PTA is seeking a new Website manager. For the 2021-2022 school year, this volunteer will work in conjunction with the current Website manager, Deirdre Daumit. This volunteer will need to be able to commit make a multi-year commitment. The workload varies throughout the year with more time required before larger events. Prior website experience is not required. If interested, please contact the PTA president, Emily St. Onge and the current Website manager, Deirdre Daumit.
