Volunteer Opportunities for 2021-2022

We are looking for volunteers for various positions for the upcoming school year. Without volunteers, the PTA would not be able to continue our mission of providing support and events for our school community. Please consider taking on a more active role this year.

If the roles listed below are not for you, please continue to check back for more opportunities for the year ahead.

STEM Kit Coordinator

Do you have a passion for STEM and learning?  The PTA is hoping to organize take-home STEM kits for our community in late February.  We are looking for a volunteer with creativity and a love for STEM to come up with ideas for these STEM kits.  The PTA has a storage closet full of STEM supplies and the ability to purchase additional supplies within reason.

Please reach out to Emily St. Onge at kpkgpta@gmail.com if you’re interested in helping!

Volunteer Coordinator

The PTA always needs volunteers, so much so that we are looking for a volunteer to organize them!  This position would involve creating and posting sign ups, as well as student volunteers from Lake Braddock Secondary School.  Must have a comfort level with posting on PTA social media and responding to inquiries.  Please contact PTA president, Emily St. Onge, if interested.

Baskets Bonanza – Donation Finders

The PTA is seeking volunteers to reach out to businesses and organizations for donations for our spring fundraiser.  Donations could be gift cards, experiences, coupons or physical items. Volunteers may be required to pick-up the donation or be able to set-up pick-up by another volunteer/Board Member.

  • This position could be done by anyone with time to reach out to business during business hours.
  • Time commitment will be over a few months and may vary
  • Questions or interested in volunteering – please contact Sarah Maccubbin-Tremper

Communications Coordinator – Flyers

We are looking for someone to help the PTA with communications by printing flyers.

  • Printing flyers requires the person to be able to travel to Kings Glen during school hours to make copies and then delivering to both schools. This is an opportunity for a parent with free time during the day to help out the PTA. This is also great way to become more familiar with your child’s school and the lovely ladies that work in the offices. The time commitment varies throughout the year.

Please contact PTA president, Emily St. Onge, if interested.

Website Manager

The PTA is seeking a new Website manager. For the 2021-2022 school year, this volunteer will work in conjunction with the current Website manager, Deirdre Daumit. This volunteer will need to be able to make a multi-year commitment. The workload varies throughout the year with more time required before larger events. Prior website experience is not required. If interested, please contact the PTA president, Emily St. Onge and the current Website manager, Deirdre Daumit.
