SPRING 2025 Offerings at Kings Glen

Kings Park/Kings Glen PTA coordinates after-school and enrichment programs for our students. Most programs run for eight weeks, and meet once a week immediately after school. Different programs are offered during the fall, winter and spring.

STEM Excel – Minecraft Programming: Tuesdays 3:30-4:30, Cafeteria

This program aims to align STEM education through beginner to advanced computer science and coding opportunities to build a Computer & Coding Club with this community of young learners. In subsequent at-school enrichment sessions this year and going forward, Kindergarten, Chess, Minecraft, Game Design, Programming, and Art & Design opportunities may be offered per community feedback.

RunFit Kidz is a coed program designed for students from grades 1-6 and in some locations 7th/8th may be included. There is little to no emphasis on competition. The focus is to introduce and foster a passion for active and healthy living. Each week will be new activities that relate to the daily topic, nutrition tip of the day and endurance or “goal mileage” run to prepare for the locally held 5K Celebration Run. Each session will include: warm-up, dynamic stretching, running games, general strength drills, endurance run, cool down, and a nutrition tip of the day.

Girls on the Run: Wednesdays AND Fridays 3:30-4:45, Outside

Girls on the Run offers programs designed to inspire participants of all abilities to recognize and embrace their inner strength and make meaningful connections with others. Trained coaches use physical activity and dynamic discussions to build social, emotional and physical skills while encouraging healthy habits for life.  In today’s unpredictable world, the strategies learned at Girls on the Run are more important than ever.

All Star Drama Club: Thursdays 3:30-4:45, Cafeteria

Grades 3 to 6: Act up after school and explore improv and musicals from 3:30 to 4:45pm for 8 weeks, starting Thursday, March 13, 2025! Parents are invited to watch a casual class sharing during the last 20 minutes of the final class. This class is open to students in grades 3-6 at both Kings Glen and Kings Park Elementary Schools. This class will be held in the cafeteria at Kings Glen Elementary School.

Learn Now Music – Poppin’ Piano Class: Fridays 3:30-4:30, Cafeteria

Our goal is to create a positive atmosphere where each student can reach their personal musical goals at their own pace.  Our teachers are professional music educators and skilled musicians. Our mission is to pass on our knowledge and love of music to our students to encourage a life-long involvement with music. FREE rental instruments included.
