Speaker Series

The KPKG PTA proudly presents speakers throughout the school year for parents and guardians. Previously we have had speakers on Virginia 529 savings plans, special education resources, diversity & race, and more. We also were pleased to offer sessions with Parenting Specialist, Child Psychologist, and Podcaster, Rachel Bailey in previous years.

We plan on offering these events throughout the year via Zoom and/or In-Person. Parents, teachers, staff and community members are invited to attend these FREE events.

Be Smart Presentation (gun storage and safety) – May 1st, 2024 at 6:30 pm in the Kings Park Cafeteria.
The Be SMART campaign was launched in 2015 to promote responsible gun ownership in order to reduce child gun deaths. Whether you’re a gun owner, or you know someone who owns a gun, there is a role for everyone in the conversation around secure gun storage. Be SMART is a framework that parents, caretakers, and community leaders can follow to help keep their communities safe. Ultimately, you can help prevent kids from accessing firearms by storing them securely, and encouraging others to do the same. Because children deserve to feel safe, no matter where they are.
